Information concerning the coronavirus

On 16 March 2020, the Federal Council declared  "exceptional circumstances" in Switzerland. Since Thursday, 19 March 2020, there have been gradual reductions in transport timetables. In line with the Federal Council's relaxation of the coronavirus protection measures, public transport services are also being gradually increased again.

In the current situation, the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway is working closely with SBB/Swiss Federal Railway, which is the public transport system’s leader for the development of measures.

With the next step in the return to normal public transport operations on 11.May 2020, a protection concept will come into force at the same time,  providing safety measures for both passengers and employees. The public transport protection concept is based on the federal government's recommendations for health protection.

The transport companies ask their customers to follow the instructions of the Federal Office of Public Health, to make only absolutely necessary journeys and to stay at home in case of symptoms of illness.
