The exhibition

The Alps are at risk! The Alpine space loses its importance as economic territory, the agriculture in mountain areas is weakening and the climate change will bring unforeseen transformations and new challenges. How will be the irrigation of meadows and pastures once the glaciers will disappear? How can we safeguard the traditions, languages and the entire cultural heritage? How will tourism refocus once the snow will fail to appear in winter time? The exhibition in the World Nature Forum in the Aletsch Camp in Naters will tackle with these and similar questions.

The visitors of the World Nature Forum receive an overview of the site, get acquainted and understand the high alpine scenery with its exciting history and its natural and cultural landscapes. The exhibition is designed as base camp of the World Heritage site and the visitors receive the basic insights for their visit to the property. They are confronted in a spectacular exhibition with thrilling films, interactive experience stations, infographics and artefacts. Their exploratory mind is being challenged with key questions associated to the use of the natural heritage. The Panorama space is the highlight of the exhibition, with a screen of 100 square meters, where spectacular movies from the World Heritage excite the visitors.
