Cross-country skiing in the Ursern valley
The Andermatt holiday region offers all-round ideal conditions for enthusiastic cross-country skiers. The Ursern valley cross-country ski passes (which include one-day and week passes) also include rail travel between Andermatt and Realp; this allows cross-country skiers to board and alight from train services at all stops along this route, without needing to purchase a ticket every time.
There is a total of 28 kilometres of trails for cross-country skiers in the Ursern Valley – for both the classic and skate variants of cross-country skiing. What's more, there is a night skiing trail in Realp that is illuminated from Monday to Thursday, from 18.00 to 21.00 hrs.
Access points to the cross-country skiing trails can be found in Andermatt next to the Bäzberg underpass (Bodenstrasse), next to "The Clubhouse", in Hospental by the railway station and in Realp next to the armoury which is in the vicinity of the railway station.
There are changing rooms, showers and toilets in Zumdorf in the Restaurant Zum Dörfli, in Realp at the Biathlon Centre and in Andermatt near the Bäzberg underpass (dressing room only) as well as in The Golf Club House (charge levied for shower usage; shampoo and towel provided).
The Ursern valley one-day pass, weekly pass and season pass include rail travel with the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn (MGBahn) between Andermatt and Realp.
