Winter hike Riffelalp - Findelbach

The route leads from the idyllic Riffelalp through the larch forest downhill. First, you pass the Riffelalp Resort. Previously, the Grandhotel Riffelalp stood here, known from 1884 to the 1960s as the “playground of the European high society.” In 1961, a major fire destroyed the historic hotel. In 1988, the house was reopened as the Riffelalp Resort. At the Alphitta restaurant, you enter the forest. Here the path leads downhill to the Chämi Hitta restaurant. The ideal place to try a piece of homemade cake or one of the many coffee creations. The path continues in a zigzag downwards towards Furi. Upon reaching the Furi road, follow the snow-covered road to Findelbach. If you still have energy, continue the hike to Zermatt. Otherwise, the Gornergrat Railway will comfortably bring you from Findelbach directly to the center of Zermatt.
